Sneak Peek: Rudsak's Fall/Winter 2013 Collection

I know the weather just started getting warmer, but Rudsak’s A/W13 collection has got me wishing it’s fall again.

The collection was first shown at World MasterCard Fashion Week back in March, but we got a more in-depth look at the pieces on Tuesday during the brand’s preview.

Rudsak’s fall collection was a mixture of ‘70s disco and ‘90s grunge. “Think Abba meets Kurt Cobain,” said Matthew Flemming, Rudsak district manager for Ontario. "It sounds crazy, but it makes sense once you see the collection."

And it truly did. The entire collection stayed true to Rudsak nature -- timeless, with an edge. We saw plenty of pieces with the classic Rudsak silhouette, leather and fur accents, and a whole lot of cool.

Here are a few of the pieces I can't wait to rock this fall and winter:

I instantly fell in love with this gorgeous lambskin leather jacket. From the metallic gold front, to the zipper detailing and those quilted shoulders, this jacket is perfect for channelling your inner Ziggy Stardust.

I love a good knit sweater, but they can often feel frumpy, and not exactly sexy. Leave it to Rudsak to create a knit top that oozes of sexiness. This lightweight knit transforms into a flowy chiffon top, perfect for wearing over a pair of black skinnies or leather leggings.

What I love about this top is that it can easily transition from work to play. Leave the top right shoulder buttoned up for a draped look, or unbutton it to create an asymmetrical blazer. The drapiness make this top flattering on all body types, while the leather sleeves add a touch of sleekness.

Though this lambskin and rabbit fur jacket is rather luxe, it still has that rocker edge that we have come to expect from Rudsak. The fur goes rather deep into the interior of the jacket, but doesn't fully line it (so you won't overheat!) Zip it up all the way on an extra cold day to keep yourself warm, or leave it unzipped for some effortless cool.

When I spoke to Rudsak's designer Evik Asatoorian at WMCFW, he told me to look out for this piece in the show -- a khaki parka with a leather corset and fur-trimmed hood. Parkas aren't necessarily figure flattering, but the "corset" really shows off the silhouette nicely. Considering we spend many months wearing a winter coat, we might as well wear one that looks nice, right? It also comes in a shorter version and a kid's version, so mama and daughter can match.

My absolute must-have for fall are these leather high-heeled ankle boots. It's all about the details with Rudsak, and the quilted flaps with mini skulls give off a sexy, rebellious and feminine vibe -- all the traits of a true Rudsak girl.

The Rudsak Fall/Winter 2013 collection will be avilable in-store and online at rudsak.com.

Madelyn
